Beauty Packing: London Bound

I ended up doing more travelling than I ever really expected last year. I wasn't flying around the world, but it definitely wasn't me in my bunny slippers, with a cup of tea watching Eastenders either. So going forward, I do solemnly swear (that I am up to no good? Always. But no...) that I will empty the contents of my makeup bag out - in an organised neatly fashion - and show you guys what's coming with me.

As with most one night-er packing scenarios, i'll more than likely wear more makeup than this up to London. I'm staying with Luce and will either be too lazy for a lot of makeup tomorrow morning, or I'll end up stealing hers - any takers as to which one? I digress. You can never go wrong with a tinted moisturiser, and I'm loving the Nars Pure Radient Tinted Moisturiser at the moment. A full review is on it's way, but to seriously sum things up: I like. A lot. I'm still quite dry around the eye area so the Origins Planscription concealer is coming along, as well as the YSL Touche Eclat for some extra glow giving.

For eyes I'm packing the Clinique High Impact mascara for a subtle but defined flutter to my lashes and the L'Oreal Super Liner, just incase I fancy going the extra mile (unlikely, but you never know). As always with brows, the Clinique Superfine Liner for Brows is coming along for the ride, as well as my Kevyn Aucoin eyelash curlers. For lips it will most likely be a swipe of the Nuxe Reve De Miel lip balm, but just incase, the Nars Velvet Matte lip pencil in Red Square has been packed. It's so long lasting that I can be sure it will see me through the endless eating I tend to do whenever I visit Luce.

So I'm off to the big smoke once again, and this is just the first of a few overnighters i'll be doing this month (next weeks could be very interesting indeed). You know I'm sure as hell making a pit-stop at Libertys, so tell me - what should I pick up?

The Sunday Post: Hello London

After a week of working my way through countless episodes of Scandal and Homeland and having my second hair cut in two weeks, I gladly packed my bags and headed for the big smoke to spend a couple of days with Luce. When I mentioned this was happening on Friday morning a few of you were interested to see what we got up to, so I made sure my trusty Canon came along for the ride. Not only did I raid her skincare stash (more on that next week, but oh boy is it good) and cry over her amazingly pinterest-able bathroom and room with a view, I also made sure we stuffed ourselves with as much food as physically possible. And I can confirm that our mission was most definitely accomplished.

Yesterday morning we went to The Breakfast Club, one of my favourite London food haunts that I'm forever forgetting to photograph. We went to the Spitafields branch, neatly tucked away just a few minutes from Liverpool Street Station. I was possibly the hungriest I'd ever been and ordered the Elvis Shake (vanilla ice cream, banana and peanut butter) and the berry pancakes (complete with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and vanilla cream) which are the sweetest pancakes I think I've ever eaten and definitely the best so far.

We also made pitstops at MAC, & Other Stories and Liberties, and I may have come away with a few good purchases (guess who's eating beans on toast every day this month?). What's even better than spending two days with Luce? I'm back on Wednesday. See you again soon London!

Oh December, what happened? The month of giving certainly turned into the month of "one for them, one for Suzie" and then just everything for Suzie. Definitely a sorry, not sorry moment as I found a whole host of amazing new products. Most of the skin are items are aimed at my horrifically dry, sore skin. So if you have any issues with facial eczema they might be worth looking into! On the makeup side of things I found two everyday bases that are definitely worth adding to your shopping lists and a few products that make for a super relaxing bath time.

And it doesn't stop there ladies (and the occasional gent), I might have gone a little crazy on ASOS too, so if style hauls are more your thing then tune in next Sunday at the usual time of 9am! As always, all the details are in the description box on my channel. Happy YouTubing!

A Grey Area

I have a colour confession. I'm head over heels for grey. It started with slouchy sweats and socks, moved on to dresses and accessories and has now crept it's way into my makeup bag. It might not appeal to everyone, but besides feeling effortlessly chic and going with the majority of outfits in my monochrome wardrobe, it matches the current grey streets and skies (and sea, most days) of Brighton, something I'll never fall out of love with.

It started creeping in through the subtle purchase of the Kevyn Aucoin sculpting powder and then the acquisition of the Bobbi Brown brow kit* (subtle grey hues, obviously). Then in the form of Clinique's nail enamel in Concrete Jungle and Smouldering by Revlon. But my most recent favourites have got to be Essie's Master Plan polish and Origins cream eye shadow in "perkle"*. Both so beautiful they have become a regular feature in my makeup bag over the past few weeks.

Safe to say, grey is officially an obsession. I might have even just purchased a new item from the colour family earlier this week. Somebody stop me!

The Nars Duo

Am I the only one who thinks Nars related blog posts should come with a warning? You can be sure that after I read any post containing the word Nars - a purchase will be made. After a peruse of Alix's blog a few weeks back I decided that the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer and Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser had to make their way off my shopping list and into my stash.

The concealer reminds me of a more luxury version of the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer, but without the caky-ness and a slightly more illuminating finish. I use the shade Custard (Yes, I was overjoyed that I wasn't matched to Vanilla - the shade that is forever out of stock)  and it works brilliantly on both under eye circles and blemishes and stays put rather well throughout the day. Safe to say it's a goodie and is now in regular rotation in my makeup stash, but the real stand out - the tinted moisturiser.

It gives a beautiful luminous and almost satin finish, with just enough coverage to get me by on an okay skin day. The shade range is surprisingly vast for a tinted moisturiser range, with shades to match both pink and yellow skin tones. You can also apply it with fingers or a brush and the result isn't too dissimilar (but ever so slightly more on the flawless side when using a buffing brush as you would expect).

And here's the bit where I open up the floor to you guys. I'm feeling spendy, so make sure you list your Nars favourites in the comments! What do I NEED? I'll be here, note pad and pen at the ready...

The Sunday Post: Three Step Sunday

This weekend I thought I'd mix things up a little. Instead of telling you what I've done (save that for next week) I thought I'd throw together the three steps that guarantee I'll feel like I had a weekend well spent come Monday morning.

Step One: Fill your fridge with nice food. This doesn't have to be junk food, it can be any kind of food you like - as long as it makes a good snack. I'm on a dairy free roll at the moment, but I've recently discovered the combination of hazelnut milk and coco-pops. Dreamy. I also love chocolate rice milk and who wouldn't say no to popcorn?! My favourite is sweet and salty (let me know your favourite in the comments - am I alone with the S&S love?). I also make sure I keep hydrated as well, so I fill up my favourite glass (yes, I have a favourite) and keep it beside me at all times.

Step Two: Have a bath and give your face some TLC. I'm guessing I'm not the only one who's skin has gone completely mental over the past few months? As a result I've been a lot more aware of how I look after it. For bath times I've been loving the This Works Deep Sleep Shower Gel and on my face I've picked up an old favourite I wrote off a few years back: Ren's Hydra Calm Cleansing Milk. I didn't rate it when I had oily skin, but right now it is like heaven on my face. I've also tried to get back into face masks, but with all the dry skin it feels slightly difficult. For Christmas Luce bought me the Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque, a clay mask that leaves your skin feeling fresh, but not as stripped as the origins mask. I like.

Step Three: Oh boy do I love step three. Find your favourite pyjamas - I picked mine up in the Zara sale this week - aren't they beauts!? - cosy up your feet in slippers/thermal socks/both if you're me (my flat is like the arctic, because I still won't put the heating on) and put on your favourite TV series with the intention of watching at least five episodes back to back before you have to get up and do something else. My favourites are Scandal, Eastenders (the omnibus, I'm always behind) and Sherlock.

I haven't actually done any of this this yet this weekend, so now I'm both hungry and so ready to get cracking with my face masks. Let me know if you follow the three step routine today (there's still time to cancel your plans, I joke, kind of.) and let me know what your favourite food/face mask/tv is so I can add some new ones into the mix!

Have a lovely (lazy) Sunday! x

And the haul returns. Someone remind me to reign it in in February please? I got a bit purchase happy on ASOS last month and picked up some pieces that had been on my list for too long. Camel coat, check. Whistles clutch, check. Chelsea boots, check. ASOS need to develop some form of loyalty point system - or maybe not because that could bankrupt me.

As always all the bumf is in the description box on my channel. I also hit 50,000 subscribers over the past week so a big thank you to all of you, whether you were the 1st, 359th or 50,000th. Thank you. x

The Blogger & The Full TIme Job (Part Two)

I have a confession today, I've been harbouring an organisational secret for a good four months now (my bad?) and had only let my good friend Luce in on a certain check-listsable, customisable, project friendly(not to mention business and collaboration friendly), on-the-go app. Wow, that got a bit wordy didn't it?

But in all seriousness. I've been keeping myself organised for the past few months by using a program called ASANA. Before I get down to selling this to you, this post is completely NOT sponsored - I started using it for work and being the organisational nerd I am, then integrated it into my home life.

There are so many list making apps available on the internet but there are a few reasons why this one is just on another level for me:

Lists inside projects, inside projects:
You can create a project, and then great as many tasks as you like inside it, you can also make sub tasks inside that one task. This is great if you love making YouTube videos, but always get to the upload stage and realise you forgot to take a thumbnail shot *points at self*. I haven't forgotten to do this once since using this app.

Re-prioritising:
Not only can you make lists, you can move them. For me, especially at work, this is a massive pet peeve when you write your to-do list down in the order you want to do it and then a client calls with an emergency job. It makes my list look messy. I can't hack it. But now I just add their task in, and move it to the top. No fuss, no mess.

Tick boxes:
Once you're done with your task you can also tick it off *insert heart eye'd emoji*. It sends it to the completed section where you don't have to look at it and can even archive the task and project once you're done.

Assigning tasks to others:
Imagine Luce and I filmed a video together (totally needs to happen, right?). She uses ASANA so if I needed her to prepare anything I could pop it on my list and assign it to her - I then get a notification if she asks any questions, attaches photos or completes the task. It really is a blogging collab dream in a slightly more business format.

Due dates:
I'm crap at leaving things until the last minute, but by putting a due date in I get a little email reminder of what is coming up. Sometimes I just push back my completion date because I'm incredibly lazy, but more often than not it's a good little reminder that something needs doing.

Laptop, iPad, iPhone - Check!
I have this app on my laptop, iPad and iPhone. So I can use it where ever. I particularly like t on my phone because I never have to carry my notebook around (it's just weighty y'know?) and if I have an idea at work I can add it in under the correct project, not on a page in a notepad where I write so much I'll have to search back for it come saturday when I'm prepping posts.

And my favourite part? It's free. If you're looking for a notebook-less organisational heaven this is it. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go tick off my "The Blogger & The Full TIme Job (Part Two)" tick boxes...

And if you're not interested in blog organisation? I have double the beauty chat for you tomorrow!

New Hair Resolutions

Remember my hair dilemmas post? That one where I was desperately seeking alternatives to chopping all of my hair off? Yeah, it happened anyway. Even my hair dresser was so nervous it took her two go's to actually get it short enough. I've had my hair like this for a good couple of weeks now, and its been a whole month since the first chop. Yes I do get hair envy when I see girls with amazingly long hair, but I think a more mid length style actually works better with the way I dress now. It's also very Jenna Coleman/Lily Collins which I'm absolutely loving. To get the most out of it whilst it's still in it's freshly cut phase, I thought I'd put together some new hair resolutions:

French girl hair: Not many people know that I have naturally wavy hair. When I was younger it had quite a curl, which has now relaxed into a natural surfer girl wave. Sounds appealing on paper, but it's pretty much unbrush-able and doesn't go with every look I throw together. However for day to day casual events it works nicely and, because of the "no brushing" rule, is seriously low maintenance. I've always loved the natural, mid length french girl hair that appears all over my tumblr feed, so with the new cut this year my aim is to embrace the natural look a bit more.

Call the hairdresser every four months (at least): I once went two years without speaking to a hairdresser. My hairdresser does, in fact, bring this up every time I see her. In 2012 I saw her once. In 2013 I saw her three times. This year depending on where I decide to go with my cut, I'd like it to be more. My hair has been in much better condition since I've started seeing her more regularly and we're also at the stage where we both really get what I'm going for, and going for the chop is a really positive experience.

Try out new styles: When my hair was really long I did get annoyed that I couldn't do a lot with it because there was so much of it. At the moment it's at that awkward length where I'm almost having the same issue, except the saving grace is that I have a lot more volume. This makes it easier to pin up and far quicker to style - making curls less of a chore. This is probably a good thing considering a top knot it out of the question!

Don't skip on the washes: Embracing my natural hair gives me a legit reason to go to bed with slightly damp hair - it might be quicker to style but it still takes an age to dry naturally. This means that I can squeeze in a quick wash late in the evening when I wouldn't have had time in the past. I really do hate dry shampoo too so this definitely needs to be a new thing.

I'll report back with a hair update soon on what my next plan of action is - shorter? longer? fringier? Who knows. But just incase you're wondering what to ask for with a cut like mine, I asked for a fairly blunt cut with just a few layers at the very end and a slight graduation at the front. Countless photos of Lilly Collins don't hurt either...

Most Loved: From Nars

New year, new series. After two years of hating the words "top five", we're going for something a little different over here. Say hello to "most loved", where I compile my most loved products from various brands and stores that I'm obsessed with. Today I thought I'd kick it off with a few of my favourites from a brand that I've been in love with since this little space first coughed up it's first post (if you could even call it that...).

Nars Pure Radient Tinted Moisturiser:
I can't count the amount of times I've mentioned the Nars tinted moisturiser since I first got my hands on it. Sheer, but still has just enough coverage to dull scarring and imperfections, decent lasting power (well for a TM anyway), a more satin, radiant finish than the dewy/shiny finish that comes with most and a really good colour range. I can't stand it when I'm the palest shade in a range (Bourjois - I'm looking at you). If I had to throw out every other Nars product, I think this would stand a good chance of being the keeper.

Nars Radient Creamy Concealer (Custard):
Good coverage? Check. Brightening but without the shimmer? Check. Blend-able? Check. Like the Collection lasting perfection concealer but without the cakey finish? Check. This is my go to on those "boy do I look rough" days as I can use it to quickly and effectively cover both dark circles and spots/redness. I'd recommend using a good eye cream otherwise things can look a little heavy, but unless you have seriously dry eyes *points at self*, you'll be fine.

Nars Loose Light Reflecting Powder
We all know how I feel about powders. There are very few that I get along with, but this is one of the few in my makeup mountain that I actually feel make my makeup look better rather than worse. It's a light reflecting setting powder, but with zero shimmer, matting the skin whilst still leaving a luminous look. I love. Only thing I don't love is that it's loose and makes a mess in my bedroom. Oops.

Blushes - Gina and Deep Throat
I always fear for what my analytics might show when I post a Nars blush name on the blog. That aside they're my favourite blushes - I used to stop by Space NK after a bad day at work and pick myself up one. Consequently I've owned a fair few over the years. However the "bad day" habit had to stop and so did my growing collection - a few have been handed out to friends so now only a handful remain. Gina and DT are my favourites of the bunch that are left. DT is saved more for girly makeup days with it's light pink sheen and subtle shimmer, it's so pretty and a good one to start of with if you're new to the world of Nars blushes. Gina is a peachy/orange with a more matte finish, one of my go-to's on days where I'm just not sure what to put on my cheeks.

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils
The lip pencil collection is growing - another Nars habit that needs to stop. Cruella and Red Square are my favourites, although I am currently on the hunt for something a little more on the pink side (watch this space). Long lasting with a velvet/matte finish and incredible colours - there was no way these weren't going to be mentioned. Another contender in the "if I had to give up all my Nars products" scenario.

The Sunday Post: Procrastination Pro

If there were awards for procrastination I'd probably win a fair few, just sayin'. Yesterday I had a million things to do, but went shopping instead. Then moved on to Bills for lunch, followed by putting off cleaning the kitchen and sitting on Twitter instead, only to then go out and stuff my face full of mexican food. Sounds good, right? Oh it was, but consequently todays YouTube video was not actually edited and uploaded until 3am this morning. Yes I am super sleepy and yes I'm probably still in bed whilst you read this (oh the beauty of scheduled posts).

Once I do get up today, the boy and I are doing are monthly food shop (so glamorous) and will finally have to clean the kitchen *le sigh*. On the brighter side we're going to the best pub ever for a roast in the evening and I should have time to get back to beauty business and test out some new products and maybe even shoot an outfit post/video if I'm really lucky (fingers crossed).

Either that will happen or I'll be in bed until about 3pm. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Same face, different products is the motto a good few of you came up with this week, but after countless requests last week to see my "The Haul Part Two" makeup in action, how could I leave you guys hanging?

Face: Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser // Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer // Avon Glow Bronzing Powder // Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour (Lush Nectarine) // Anistasia Dipbrow Pomade // Collection Fast Stroke Liquid Liner // Maxfactor False Lash Effect // Clinique High Impact Mascara // Bourjois Colour Boost (Orange Punch)

This year I made a promise that I'll gravitate away from nude lipstick and minimal eye makeup, so the combo of pink cheeks and lips are the first baby steps into a whole realm of makeup I don't really delve into often. Next up, smoky eyes...

Just Landed: Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade

$

Ever have it where a product suddenly pops up on every email, Instagram snap and tweet and you just can't get it off your mind? The Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade was everywhere I looked a few weeks back and, unsurprisingly, it was out of stock in my shade when I went to purchase it from Cult Beauty. I went on the waiting list and no less than a week later it was back. I snapped it up with Fed Ex express delivery (expensive, but being an ASOS VIP has spoilt me) and in less than 24 hours I had both the Dipbrow and some serious skincare treats landing on my desk.

What, how & why?  A little pot of brow goodness with a waxy/creamy consistency. I apply it with my angled brush from MAC and use it to both fill and shape my brows. It's slightly warmer than my usual brow fillers of choice and oh boy is it pigmented (FYI: I use "dark brown"). After giving my brush a little whirl in the pot I dust the bulk of the product onto the back of my hand, this way I'm not sporting any crazy brows and I can correct mistakes easier.

I'm not quite selling it here am I? So let me explain the "why"... Firstly, this stuff does. not. budge. The reason I like to apply it in small amounts is because it sets super fast and stays all day, for someone who can quite often be seen rubbing her temples/forehead/general face, this is a life saver. Secondly, although there's a serious pigment to this I find the formula really easy and satisfying to work with. I love working with an angled brush but find powder really difficult to shape with, where as the creamy consistency allows me to shape and build without it rubbing off a few minutes later or looking too off in the shade department.

What do you think? If you're on UK soil and looking to get your hands on the stuff then make your way over to the beauty black hole that is Cult Beauty. Just a warning, I have a feeling there's a waiting list...

Edit: A few of you have asked whether the product is a perfect match for my brows. It's not the perfect shade. As I said above it's a little warmer, so with my ashy toned brows I use a small amount and it matches really well. If you have darker, warmer brows then you'll need to build up a little more.

The Style Post: Monochrome Everything

Hat: Missguided | Coat: Primark | Jumper: Urban Outfitters | Skort: Topshop | Tights: ASOS | Bag: Zara

I'd been itching to shoot an outfit in black and white for a while now, so when I picked up this gingham mini kilt skort from Topshop, I took it as a sign. We hunted high and low for the perfect location to take these photos, before realising that colours didn't really factor in once the photos are edited. So we settled for somewhere local and pretty - and a few of you even tweeted to say you saw me (so hi!).

Anyway, back to the shorts. I'd been after a gingham print skirt for so long, but I struggle so much with finding the perfect skirt shapes for my size, so when I saw a pair of gingham print skorts I snapped them up. I'm a massive lover of shorts, but sometimes I feel like an outfit needs a slightly more feminine edge, so these are perfect. I love the fact that the shorts are slightly longer than the skirt edge, it gives it a slightly different shape from afar, but doesn't look weird at all. It's also worth noting I picked these up in the standard Topshop range, not petites and they aren't too long at all - something I was concerned about when I first saw them on the website.

I paired them with an all black outfit, but I think they would look perfect with pastel coloured jumpers too. Although you can't see in the photos I wore my ASOS Adverse Chelsea Boots - my perfect winter shoe. I find flats work better with this outfit over heels - I don't know why, i'm just very particular about shoes...

The Review: Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque

After my two month battle to restore my skin back to it's normal/combination self, things got a bit low on the ground when it came to skincare (and eyeshadow too, actually). How was I meant to recommend anything - minus the odd moisturiser - when my skin was completely out of sorts and looked terrible? I'm happy to say it's much more on the normal side now, and I feel like my old self again. Once my skin started to return to it's normal self the first thing I tried out was the Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque. A present from Luce (could you have guessed?) that I'd been itching to crack open since I unwrapped it!

So, thoughts? I'd heard other girls say a hundred times over that this mask almost works as an undo button if you've neglected your skincare throughout the week. I'm pretty good with my routine so I can't vouch for that one - yet - but I've noticed my skin has been much better behaved since I started using this. I use it on a Sunday and a Wednesday to draw out any nasties lurking below the surface of my skin, making it look much clearer, and to perk up my complexion. Most masks I've used that extract impurities have been a little on the drying side but this mask is a good one for not being overly drying or leaving your skin feeling tight after - having just got out of a serious dry skin rut, I really appreciate this.

My Origins Clear Improvement Mask has officially been cast aside in favour of this, it really is such a great mask. If you're looking for a good cleansing mask I'd definitely look into this one. However it is worth being aware that it can really break some people out at first. Most people I know have been fine but there are some cases where it can be a bit too much for some peoples skin, so if you're prone to break outs you might want to speak to one of their consultants on counter before taking the plunge.

Seeing as my first Aesop experience has been a really positive one, I think I might invest in some more products from them - any recommendations? Pen and paper are at the ready...

The Clinique Smoky Eye

If I remember rightly my first high end makeup love was back when I was 15 in the form of a single Clinique eyeshadow in Daybreak - a pearly, glowing nude shade. I've tried so many different eyeshadow formulas and to this day I think they have got to be my favourite. Recently I've fallen in love with the single shadows all over again but this time I've been loving something a little more warm and smokey than usual.

The star of the show here has got to be the Clinique Black Honey Eyeshadow*, a dark reddy/brown shade that can be used in the crease or blended all over for a smokey eye with a slightly different twist. Then we have At Dusk, a golden orange that can be sheered out for a light wash or built up for something a little more intense. In the photos above I blended Black Honey through the crease and into the centre of the lid over At Dusk. The two created a copper toned smoky eye that I fell in love with. I wore mine with a flick of liquid liner as we were shooting outfit photos, but it looks just as good with a smudge of brown kohl liner across the lash line.

P.S Ignore my wonky liner and unruly brows, it was one of those days...

The Insider: Bathroom Beauty With Bonjour Luce

Today I'm kicking things off with something old, but something new too. Way back when (okay, about a year ago), I used to raid the makeup stashes/wardrobes of girls I know and love and get them to write a little something for the blog. I love snooping around peoples bathrooms/dressing tables/flats ect, so when I visited my friend Luce's flat for the very first time it reminded me I needed to bring it back (and just an FYI her current bathroom is stunning!). I found a fair few products whist having a nose and they were swiftly added to my wish list so I thought I'd jot them down for you...

Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque - Shortly after scanning the bathroom for beauty products I unwrapped my very own tube of the stuff (thanks Luce). I did a review on this just a few days back (post here). I'm a fan, Luce is a fan *insert heart emoji's everywhere*.

Pixi Glow Tonic - One I haven't had the chance to get my hands on yet, it comes in and out of stock like it can't make up it's mind. I think I might have to make it my aim to get my hands on a bottle this year.

Origins Nit-a-mins Moisturiser - I can't count how many times this has been recommended to me and I still haven't tried it! Slap it on - go to sleep - wake up with brighter, more radiant skin? Yes please.

Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask - Out of the five this has to be top of my list. A cleansing/hydrating mask - why did I not buy it when it was on sale on feel unique? Why did I not buy it after reading the first review on it? So many questions.

Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Oil - Oh Aesop, you lured me in with your pretty packaging and now you're right up there on my wish list. Only problem is if I buy all the Aesop products I'm currently lusting after then I need a pinterest-able bathroom/sink area to fit. We're currently having some difficulty with that one...

The Sunday Post: Coffee, Cameras &... Ukeleles?

This weekend we bought a Ukelele - I know. What even went through my mind? Josh had been thinking about picking one up for a while, and after we went into store to take a look we found ourselves smitten with dark wooden Makala - nothing fancy but it's so cute. I'm currently still at the very beginning when it comes to learning, but after I gave up playing instruments 12 years ago it feels nice to start learning again. Oh and that other purchase? I picked up the Canon EOS M in hope of saving my back on days where I need to carry my laptop and camera. It's just what I needed.

Apart from getting a little spendy, this weekend has mostly revolved around preparing for three days of London-ness this week. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. Crazy. The flat has been cleaned from head to toe and videos for next week are already in process. After promising I'd be home more in 2014 (to prove I'd be home enough to get a dog), I'm currently feeling like a massive fail. However, I get to see Luce on Tuesday for breakfast so that totally makes up for the lack of pugs in my life!

Seeing as I've got a super busy week and a new camera I thought I'd maybe put together a little vlog for you guys? Let me know if it's something you want to see as I'm really excited to put my new toy to good use!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend! x

After the first post in my "Most Loved" series (all about the Nars products, Mmmmm - link here) I had a huge amount of requests for one dedicated to Origins. Little did you guys know that I'd already photographed it! I've loved Origins since I first got into beauty products, which as you can imagine has resulted in a hefty amount of purchases over the years and I know my way around the counter pretty darn well. Needless to say that narrowing things down to five was a task that I failed at, so on this occasion we'll go with six...

Origins Plantscripton Concealer
Medium coverage with a slightly dewier finish than most concealers. It gives a natural glow and works well with my skin all year round. I have the first three shades (greedy I know) so that I'm never stuck without it when my tan fades or appears (a girl can dream, right?)

Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask
An overnight mask that gives all the moisture. If you suffer with dry skin then you'll love this. I pop it on around 20 minutes before I go to bed on days when things are looking a bit dry. Eight hours later, I wake up with plump and hydrated skin. Simples.

Origins Out Of Trouble Mask
This is a great one if you suffer with regular blemishes or oily skin. I used to fit into both those categories and used to use this at least once every week. I don't need it as regularly at the moment, but I still like to crack it out when my face is looking a bit scary.

Origins Ginzing Moisturiser
Brightening, hydrating and by far the best smelling moisturiser I've EVER owned. I even have a back up tub stashed for a rainy days.

Origins Super Spot Remover
A spruced up, better smelling version of tea tree oil. It's a gel more than an oil or serum which forms a protective layer over spots and dries them out. I also have a backup of this one too (which is pretty lucky considering I'm just about to run out).

Origins Eyeshadow in Storm Surge*
I find the formula of these eyeshadow pots really interesting, it could just be my pot, but they almost sit half way between a cream eyeshadow and a powder. Most shadow pots have a smooth consistency to them and are hard to pick up with a brush, but these allow me to pick up product with the swirl of a blending brush.
