I mentioned last week that I've been back and forth to London at lot recently for lots of different reasons - one of them being Charlotte Tilbury's new offerings - and I couldn't hint at getting a peek at them without fully taking you along with me now, could I?

It's no secret that summer collections will always have my heart above anything else, so when you mix being in a room with CT herself and getting a preview of an incredible collection, you have my full attention.

The CT X Norman Parkinson collection was the highlight of the afternoon, with cream blushes, highlighters and contours on hand to swatch and snap as we pleased. NP's artwork hung on the walls and made our idyllic Piccadilly location that little bit more dreamy. Charlotte's team of makeup artists were on hand to apply some of the new offerings to our very excited faces - of course I was straight in line for a seat! I pretty much had the whole collection applied on my face, along with the Eyes To Mesmerise, the new creamy eyeshadows launching in May - heads up, they're super swoony.

Once my makeup was finished, Alix took a seat in the chair whilst I snapped away for my Instagram and Snapchat (duhh). During this time the windows to the balcony were opened and I couldn't quite resist jumping out to get a view of Piccadilly and a few photos of my finished makeup.

I'll be going through the whole collection in detail later this week - sorry if you get sick of reading about it - I'm well aware it's been reviewed everywhere already but you know I love to put my two cents in!

P.S There's also a vlog of this day HERE if you want to see it!

The New Zara Bag

Image may be NSFW.

The new season bag selection in Zara will always have my heart, each and every time I start thinking about making a bigger, more pricy purchase, they release at least three bags which I fall in love with, can't get out of my head and swiftly purchase in good old supermarket sweep fashion. You know, the run and grab pre-apocalypse kind of purchase.

We're a few days in to Spring and this may have already happened twice so far. Oops. The Zara Soft Shopper being the most recent and wearable of the two. It's got the whole Prada-esque excess straps around the body and a little extra slouch that gives it a casual vibe, whilst the sheen of the faux leather gives it a more polished look - making it appropriate for so many different occasions. The silver buckle and stud details are a winner in my eyes too, giving it a more minimal look - something I haven't seen in a while since the black and gold trend truly moved in and made itself at home.

But what' in the bag? Well, I thought I'd leave that for you to find out. *SPOILER ALERT* Contains lipsticks and chocolate. Who'd have known...

The weather on the coast has been a little crazy recently. From ice cold mornings and occasional hail storms to the incredibly hot. I don't have a clue what to wear when I wake up in the morning. Luckily the early morning outings with the dog are the perfect tester for a weather appropriate outfit, and last weekend this were pretty warm. Unseasonably so.

After picking up a new playsuit from ASOS I knew exactly what I wanted to work my outfit around. Despite the difficulty they cause in some aspects of your life, they make dressing pretty darn quick and fuss free. Add tights, boots and a jacket and you're good to go. Unless in my case it's so warm than you end up ditching the jacket for most of the day. Side note: I lived and worked in two very cold buildings for over two years - I'm pretty hardy to the cold so 15 degrees is warm for me.

But I can't be the only one who felt this way as what felt like the majority of the Brighton population were out in the streets and queue for the local gelato shop was longggg. It may have only lasted for a maximum of twelve hours but it was glorious and I can't wait for our next round of sunshine. So much so in fact, I feel like a little holiday is in order - anyone with me?

WHAT I WORE:
LEATHER JACKET: DOROTHY PERKINS
WRAP PLAYSUIT: ASOS
BOOTS: TOPSHOP
BAG: ASOS
SUNGLASSES: TOPSHOP

The One Worth Waiting For: Charlotte Tilbury x Norman Parkinson

Okay, so chances are you've already seen this collection land on a few of your favourite websites already, but don't click disappear on me just yet! Makeup bags and exclusive collectors boxes are being pushed aside today, because as exciting as they are, it's the products that have really wowed me here.

Before we get started, it's very rare that I like everything from a new collection, especially a summer one as there is always something totally unwearable and in your face. It's even more rare that I LOVE the majority of a collection too (some call me fussy, I'm not totally sure why). But the Charlotte Tilbury x Norman Parkinson collection is incredible. I've separated my loves and likes below, because otherwise choosing a must buy could get real difficult!

LOVES: If you buy one thing... the COLOUR OF YOUTH LIP & CHEEK GLOWis my favourite of the bunch. A creamy blush formula that glides over the skin, with a super bright peachy pink pigment that means you only need a dab on each cheek. Not only does it look beautiful blended over cheeks for a dewy flush, it sits so comfortably on the lips too. Add a dab of highlight to the cupids bow and centre of the lower lip and things start to look a lot more plump! Could it get better? Oh yes, it smells like a MAC lipstick which makes application ten times more dreamy. However, if cheek products aren't your thing, two new MATTE REVOLUTION LIPSTICK's will be showing their faces this summer, and both are beauts! Miss Kensington is a warm nude (see it here), whilst 1975 Red is a beautiful coral/orange/pink/red. A lot of colours rolled in to one lipstick and the result is a universally flattering red. I'm hooked.

LIKES: The DREAMY GLOW HIGHLIGHTER and FILMSTAR BRONZE & GLOW are two that I like, but can't quite pin point as a "must buy". If you already own the original bronze and glow, a purchase of it's new cream counterpart may border on excessive and despite being an eternal lover of cream products I still prefer the original as it's bronzing properties are much better (however the cream version is much better for contouring). Following on from that the Dreamy Glow is a more subtle and rosy highlighter in comparison to the Filmstar Bronze & Glows, it's stunning and much more appropriate for everyday wear. Although I really like it, I can't quite pin it down as a "must have" in my makeup bag. But go, swatch, make your own mind up!

LOOK OUT FOR: Yes, there are a few new treats not party to the CT x NP collection that are rather fancy. The EYES TO MESMERISE are creamy, mousse pots of eyeshadow goodness. There are a few similar versions by other brands (including Maxfactor) so if you're on the hunt for something a little more purse friendly you are in luck! But then we have SOMETHING SECRET that I can't really talk about other than the fact that it is a truly stunning base product. EYES PEELED LADIES. EYES PEELED.

Non Beauty Favourites

A rather late Non Beauty Favourites for February went up my my channel on Tuesday! From the iPad edition of Stylist and a rather swish little notebook to the Wild Mint White Company candle and a few style favourites. Oh, not to mention my current food obsession...

Let me know if you like these kind of videos as I'd love to start making this a monthly thing. Let's face it, with the copious amounts of Netflix I watch, I need an outlet for my TV chatter!

The Sunday Post: Something A Little More Sun Kissed...

Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.
This week I visited the hairdressers after well over a year without anyone doing anything other than a blowdry on my hair. Things have gotten rather long and swishy recently (as you can see this hasn't changed a bit) which I'm super happy with, but given the absence of any form of holiday over the past two years things turned a little bit dark and dull (SERIOUSLY THOUGH WHERE IS HOT RIGHT NOW? I NEED SOME SUN).

With this in mind we spent a few hours working to achieve something a little more sun kissed (for those of you who might be wondering I booked my appointment with the lovely Max at Simon Webster Hair in Brighton). A balayage technique with a little dip dye thrown in, the colour lifted in just over forty minutes, before being toned to more caramel and honey hues.

Aside from a few areas that need to settle in or be toned down I'm over the moon with the result. When I curl my hair it looks super shiny and glossy, but this weekend I realised things get even better when left to fall loose with a middle part. I look a little like a Haim reject and I'm totally okay with that. It has a relaxed LA vibe to it (perfect given one of our potential travel locations this year!) that also fits in well with the whole 70's revival we currently have going on.

The best bit? My roots are still rather dark, creating a nice contrast between my natural hair and highlights - it also means I don't have to worry about roots and that's what it all comes down to really!

March Beauty Favourites

Goodbye March, hello April. We're approaching one of my favourite months of the year, and whilst I'm excited, I'm also terrified at how quickly the last 30 days have passed me by. But roll on April, lighter evenings and praying for the UK's usual April heatwave, but first, Monthly Favourites.

There were a tonne of new budget favourites this month, from the Bioderma Hydrabio Riche Moisturiser to the L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper and a surprising new favourite in the form of the Colab Dry Shampoo.

New high end favourites include the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow and the yet to be released Colour of Youth*, all wrapped up with a little something from Chanel at the end of the video!

Things To Do This Week #2

Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.
Things to do this week, OR if you're a UK reader - things to add to your FOUR DAY WEEKEND to-do list. Today I'll be wrapping together my current favourite products, places and recipes for you to add to this weeks to-do list.

WEAR IT: This week I've been taking a little look at the 70's vibe that seems to be dominating our daily lives at the moment. From A line button up skirts to loose shirts, I'm trying to find the way to make it feel everyday appropriate rather than Scooby Doo dress up. I've found flares to be a no-go right now, but off the shoulder tops with bell sleeves to be a winner. The one above is from ASOS and works perfectly with a big black hat. And then we have the shopping moment of the year I've been dreading: wedding guest dresses. We have a handful pencilled in already for the year, so I thought I'd get on ASOS a little early to avoid disappointment later. Out of the two dresses that arrived, one navy and one nude, the nude one has my heart. With lacy, neon red shoulders and a perfect just above the knee length - it's my summer wedding dress of choice.

WATCH: Last week the The September Issue made its way on to Netflix - it's an interesting watch and my current favourite to run whilst I'm tapping away at my laptop - if a real life version of The Devils Wears Prada sounds right up your street then this is one for you! After finishing most of my current Netflix favourites, I turned to The Originals for comfort - Vampires, Witches, Werewolves. Yep, productivity levels have decreased by as much as 100% some days. If you're not planning on moving from your sofa this weekend - make this one to watch. If, however, you're planning on seeing something on the big screen this weekend, make it Insurgent, I went to see it last week (and vlogged - link here) and it was just as good as the first. It also has some great visual effects, or so my other half tells me...

ONE TO WORK OUT TO: I haven't moved as much as I would have liked to during March, but when I have the time one work out I've really enjoyed is theBlogilates Slimmer Inner Thighs and Runners Calves. It's hard work, especially at first, and will leave your legs feeling a little worse for wear over the next 24 hours, but it's fun, quick and not too testing (and gives you an excuse to be a couch potato for the following 48 hours if you milk it enough)!

MAKE IT: The Breakfast Bowl - the yummiest and most simple of all my breakfasts. If you're not a fan of acai bowls (I'm with you there) but want to add a little more umph to your standard granola, this is one to try. Natural full fat yoghurt and your granola of choice, accompanied by a few toppings - nuts, seeds, dried or fresh fruit - basically what ever you have in your kitchen cupboard (I sometimes add chocolate chips...) Throw it in a bowl and thank me later.

AND FINALLY: Have a duvet day (and if you celebrate Easter - eat all your easter eggs!)

Things I've Learnt About Photography For Blog Photos

Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.
Taking photos has been one of my favourite parts of the blogging production line since day one. I enjoyed learning about composition and using different equipment in a more hands on way after finding studying it rather soul destroying. I'm still learning new things everyday, and there's nothing more rewarding than being able to see and look back on your progress. When I look back there are a few things I wish I'd known earlier that would have made my life a lot easier and far happier with the end results.

USE YOUR MANUAL SETTINGS
Learning to use the manual settings on my camera is something I wish I'd done a lot earlier. It takes time, and sometimes I still get things a little wrong, but sometimes things can also look wayyyyy better than they ever would on automatic settings. I use a DSLR (Canon 600D with a 50mm Lens) and like for my photos to look as bright and whimsical as possible. Although there are other factors that come in to play the base settings do a lot of the key work. I normally try to keep my ISO as low as possible, with a slightly higher exposure and a low F point. For outfit photos I always make sure to increase the F point - my lens can go as low as 1.8, which means my elbow could be in focus whilst the rest of my face is blurred - otherwise it's easy to get all the way home and find your photos just aren't quite as crisp as you would have liked.

SHOOT IN RAW
Although the day I started shooting in RAW was the day I kissed my free space on my memory card behind, it really is life changing. It captures the most data possible and doesn't compress the information, resulting in higher quality images that are easier to manipulate and correct. Ever had shadows in a photo that are just that bit too dark and goes grainy when you try to lift them? We've all been there but shooting in RAW makes correcting shadows and highlights so much easier.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL
We're all human and there will often be a tiny something that niggles us in an almost perfect photo, but there are a few things to think about when taking photos, especially outside. Great outfit photos often have a background that compliments the subject - but there is always a little more to it than just location. Are there buses in the background, road works, vans - bright objects that ruin your shot? Is there gum or bird poo on the ground that can be seen? Shoot at an angle where these are out of shot or wait for moving objects to pass. For me there's nothing worse than a man in a high vis jacket ruining a great photo - so make sure your surroundings are on the neutral side of things.

TEST SHOTS
If someone else takes your photos show them how you like them to be taken. Use already existing photos to show composition, and take a snapshot of how you would like your shot to be there and then, but with them in frame. Most of my friends catch on super quickly and eventually you can even trust some to run free on the manual setting (woah there).

EXPERIMENT WITH THE TOOLS YOU HAVE
There's so much more than just brightness and contrast. Saturation, Hues, Curves & Levels (if you have access to certain software) are all amazing and can completely change the feel of a photo. I use the levels and curves in photoshop to make my own pre-set filters - resulting in the super bright, contrasted images you normally see here. (Let me know if you'd like to see more on this - I'm no expert but I've learnt a few things over the past few years!)

RESIZE TO YOUR BLOG WIDTH
Resizing our photos to the width of the body of your blog helps it to load so much faster than using the original file and compressing it on your blogging platform of choice. Compressing it to a smaller size still leaves your site to host the original file size, so it will still take the same amount of time to load. It's worth remembering that not all blog readers will have amazing internet, so large photos can load incredibly slowly and lessen the user experience. This is especially important if you shoot in a larger format.

If there's one thing I've learnt this week, it's that my sweet tooth has progressed to a full on sugar addiction, and I might need to cool things down a bit over the next few months! This week Alix made a little visit to Brighton (we then somehow proceeded to see each other three days in a row following this - I think we need to live closer) and we made a stop at Cloud Nine for some waffles after the disappointment of the Creperie advertising Cream Egg Crepes and then being closed (there were almost tears).

We both ordered the waffles with scoops of vanilla and pecan chocolate ice cream with a few Oreo's thrown in for good measure. Alix had chocolate fudge sauce added too, and I swiftly regretted not opting for the same because it looked amazing. Throw in a cup off tea each and a lot of chatting and we had ourselves a pretty lovely afternoon!

Drugstore Makeup For Spring

This week I lost my voice. Can you imagine the silence in our house? I think everyone except me has really enjoyed the past week but when it came to filming day my talk through Drugstore Makeup turned in to something a little more mime-esque. It's short and sweet and I even do a little dancing like nobody's watching at the end. All in aid of a few new Drugstore Favourites of mine of course...

The new Bourjois Aqua Laque is very different to anything else around at the moment and is definitely dividing opinions. I'll talk about it more in an upcoming video, but I definitely approach the new liquid lipsticks as more of a stain than a gloss. Then there's Topshop's Head Over Heels blush, a more cream to powder dupe for the Charlotte Tilbury Colour of Youth Blush that is rocking my world right now. Pink lips and cheeks for Spring? Groundbreaking I know, but it's just so pretty and fresh I can't quite help but love it!

Something A Little More Seventies...

I have to admit when the 70's trend rolled back around I was one of the first to sigh in despair. Flares, fur collars and cuffs, DENIM? seriously? No thank you. We all know the denim trend won me over in the end, but the rest, I'm still not so sure. So I set myself a little challenge to find something, anything, that I could wear daily and throw on feeling like myself. Where do you start? Well, buy all new trends in black, obviously.

During my trails of a few different items I became completely obsessed with off the shoulder tops. They're such a nostalgic item for me as they were "the thing" when I was around 7/8 years old and obsessed with the Olsen Twins (nothing changed there - BUT SERIOUSLY  HOW HAVE THEY BEEN LIFE LONG STYLE ICONS!? Kudos to them...). Mine was always a tad too big and I'd be hoisting it back in to place regularly. However, this off the shoulder top from ASOS fits perfectly both on and off the shoulders (it sits really naturally on the shoulders which makes coat wearing less of a faff than it looks) and has been worn about six times already since it's purchase a few weeks back (rest assured it's also been though the wash a lot too)!

I purchased it from the tall section to avoid things getting too "croppy" - for some reason every retailer under the sun wants to crop things all year round which is just not flattering - and It feels almost timeless when I wear it with jeans and my regular boots and I've even purchased similar sets in patterns and colours (COLOURS PEOPLE!!!) just in time for the sun to finally show it's face for more than two hours. Guess who's going to have super brown shoulders (and nothing else) by the end of summer!

The past week consisted of meetings, filming editing and organising my summer calendar - makes for really bloggable content right? Things are looking super busy over the summer months and I couldn't be happier after spending the past two years fighting for one day off to take up just one piece of festival coverage or beauty event!

For anyone who is interested, I'll be at both BeautyCon London on May 23rd and V Festival with Alix on August 22nd. There might also be a trip across the pond and a few other festivals too but I'm in that annoying "can't confirm yet" stage (annoyingly I'll probably find out about them tomorrow!), so keep an eye out on twitter for updates on where I'll be this summer!

Plans aside, things have been busy and I feel bad that I don't have a fun day out to show you all but I guess that's just life isn't it? You can't have waffles and ice cream every week (though it is the dream)...

New Spring Beauty Launches 2015
To make up for the lack of chit chat in last weeks video I decided to make this weeks a super chatty new launches sort of shindig. I went a little bit crazy with the new bases, including a lovely new drugstore offering from L'Oreal a light weight base from Chanel and a higher coverage photo ready foundation from Laura Mercier. There are a few new releases from Clarins and Clinique that are very spring-y, two lovely new pieces from Aerin and a primer flop. Oh and I manage to squeeze the Bourjois Aqua Laques in to another video - different colour this time around though, don't worry!

You may have noticed this is the second spring video I've released after the Drugstore Spring Makeup last Sunday. There might just be another making its way to you soon... Yup, things are getting sprin-y up in here. (Gettin' Spring-y With It... Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah)

Summer Skin In A Bottle

Although I've already mentionedChanels latest CC Cream more times in the past week than I've had pizza (woah there), I couldn't help but dedicate a whole page to it. Why? It's pretty much the perfect summer base in a (travel friendly) bottle and I haven't taken it out of my makeup bag for a good month now!

The latest CC release is luminous and lightweight, with a good dose of coverage. Unlike previous CC Creams it has a whopping SPF 50 (a blessing or a curse dependant on how you feel about added SPF) but still sits in the skincare division of the Chanel beauty range.

Everything about it lends itself towards summer use. The dewy sheen over the high points of the face that gives that "I've just been out playing in the sun" glow - even if you've been inside staring at a screen for the past eight hours. The high SPF factor that is perfect for when you do get to play outside in the sun and super light bottle that makes packing and traveling a breeze!

I currently use the shade 20 beige, but in a few months time I'll definitely need 30! The glow factor definitely lends itself towards use on dry/normal skin types, with oilier skins finding that things need a dose of primer/powder/both to keep things in place!

Aside from October (for obvious reasons) April is one of my favourite months of the year. Despite the showers it is known so well for, a heatwave normally follows, along with an abundance of daffodils and tulips. The first two factors made an excellent excuse to shoot my latest Topshop finds last weekend.

After a nice long lunch Josh and I hopped on over to a little rock garden not too far from home. Filled with pretty flowers and trickling streams, we snapped away at a very festival/wedding/everything appropriate nude dress and rose gold sandals. Yes, ROSE GOLD SANDALS (Sayyy whuttt). I'm rather smitten.

April is one of my favourite months of the year for so many reasons, one of them being that it is the best for shopping. The new season stock comes out, all made from light fabric in mood boosting colours, and I go a little bit wild. This summer I have a lot going on and I hate being the last minute shopper for holiday/occasion outfits, so I decided to be the early bird and give you a heads up on a few things that are hanging around on ASOS and Topshop at the moment.

Last week I was up bright and early for an exciting shoot with one of my favourite hair care bands. Tresemmé has asked me to be part of one of their projects surrounding the Perfectly Undone range, in which we recreated the waves from iconic historical photos. We started by washing my hair with the Perfectly Undone Shampoo and Conditioner (which you can check out here), and follow it up with the waves creation sea foam before styling and the ultra brush-able hairspray after!

You can see my finished result here and I also vlogged a little of the behind the scenes prep for you! It was a really fun shoot and the team were brilliant. Safe to say I'm a very happy girl as I've wanted to work with them for so long! They were the first haircare brand that I ever spent my money on,at the age of twelve so to be working with them now is just dreamy!

The sun has been beaming on down on the streets of Brighton recently (even allowing for bare legs weather on some occasions) with Monday morning being no exception. My friend Liv and I took some time out for a beach side stroll and snapped away at yet another 70's inspired outfit.

One thing I've always loved about summer is cracking out a good old fringed bag. Remember the Primark number that did the rounds around eight years ago? I had the tanned one and only just passed it on last year ready for a new fringed baby to make its way into my life. Cue a little black offering form ASOS. It fits a surprising number of my belongings in it (cameras included) and adds a perfect festival vibe to an outfit. I'm obsessed. Here's to another eight years of fringed bag love...

Happy Sunday Folks! We all know by now this weekly slot is usually reserved for some form of breakfast/brunchy goodness and today is no exception. This week I visited an old favourite food haunt of mine. When ever anyone asks me for a list of Brighton brunch recommendations I always include Cafe Coho. It's often overlooked for the likes of Marwoods and Bill's, but the food is delicious, the service always on point and the decor is perfectly to my taste - a little rustic without feeling too derelict. There are actually two in Brighton, one by the station and one on ship street. Both allow dogs too and for that I'm always a fan.

This week I had brunch with my friend Liv after deciding that we needed some pancakes in our lives (read: bellies) and opted for the fresh berry pancakes. I'm normally a bacon maple syrup kind of girl, but these were so delicious and felt really light and a little more healthy than my usual choice. I'm pretty sure the berries change dependant on season and stock which should make repeat orders in the future that little bit more exciting.

After lunch we took a wander through the lanes (covering our eyes and pretending the likes of MAC and Kiehls didn't exist for our wallets sake!) to work off our rather large breakfasts. I'd like to say things are going to be a little more healthier around here due to the upcoming summer holidays, but we still have a tonne of cake and eggs in the house from easter and I hear that The Breakfast Club are going to be showing their face in Brighton very soon... No chance.
